One Pick to Rule Them All
Long time listener, first time caller TheOctopus here. I’ve been in LockLeagues since they were a twinkle in their father’s eye and I’m here to tell you about some new league types I’m especially excited about. Every week I will be publishing The Octopick, my best NFL pick of the week. My colleague and good friend Haymonster will be publishing his internationally famous Mortal Lock for college football. You can ride these picks in your one pick leagues, or fade them (at your own risk). Make sure you are following our Instagram so you can stay up to date on these weekly picks.
The concept is simple. You find your best pick of the week for either the NFL or college football and submit it to your LockLeague. The odds bounds are -120 to 150 so you are limited to spreads, totals, and slight underdogs. This competition rewards consistently solid best bets and does not allow for late season Hail Mary underdogs. No unique picks requirement and no juiced picks.

CFB One Pick:
- Starts August 25, 2026 (Tuesday)
- 14 weekly windows
- 1 pick per week
NFL One Pick:
- Starts September 8, 2026 (Tuesday)
- 18 weekly windows
- 1 pick per week
Something I am trying out with my buddies is running one of each type in parallel. We have a pot for each individual league and a bigger pot for the aggregate score. These leagues are definitely fun on their own but feel free to try out this aggregate scheme for an extra fun wrinkle.
