Rules of LockLeagues

Windows
Windows determine how often picks are evaluated. For each window, participants are expected to submit a set number of picks. The number of picks per window is set at league creation. Windows can be as long or as short as you want, but we recommend about a week.

Odds Limitations
Within each league, what picks are available is determined by minimum and maximum odds, which are set at league creation. For example, a long shot league could set the minimum odds at +250 with an unlimited maximum. A toss-up league could set the minimum at -150 and the maximum at +150.

Unique Picks
Each participant must make unique selections—no copying someone else's picks! This ensures everyone develops their own strategy and makes the competition more interesting.

Set up your own rewards for league winners! Whether it's bragging rights, a trophy, or the losers buying dinner—you decide what's at stake.

Standings Based on Delta
League standings are determined by "delta"—the difference between your expected return and actual results. This rewards smart picking, not just volume.
Frequently Asked Questions
The spread estimates the margin of victory or defeat for a given team. For instance, "Team A -1 Team B" means that the game is most likely to end with Team A beating Team B by 1. This prediction could also be represented by "Team B +1 Team A".

Odds represent the probability of an outcome and determine your potential return. American odds are displayed as positive (+) or negative (-) numbers.
Negative odds (e.g., -150) indicate the favorite. The number shows how much you'd need to bet to win 100 units.
Positive odds (e.g., +200) indicate the underdog. The number shows how much you'd win on a 100 unit bet.
Win: Your pick was correct. You earn the payout based on the odds.
Loss: Your pick was incorrect. No payout.
Push: The result exactly matched the spread (e.g., Team A favored by 3 wins by exactly 3). Your pick is returned with no win or loss. This is like a tie.
LockLeagues supports a variety of betting markets including moneylines (picking the winner), point spreads, and totals (over/under). Available markets depend on the sport and event.
Unlimited! Join as many leagues as you want. Create leagues with different friend groups, different sports focuses, or different rule sets.
When creating a league, you can customize: window duration, number of picks per window, minimum and maximum odds, which sports are included, and whether picks must be unique among members.
If two or more participants have the same delta at the end of a league, the tiebreaker goes to whoever has the better win percentage. If that's also tied, both participants share the rank.
No. Usernames are permanent to maintain consistency in league standings and historical records. Choose wisely when you sign up!
