Puck Pick of the day

Congratulations, you’ve made it through another week and this time we have some Friday puck to kick off a long holiday weekend. Clearly, I’m better off on the ice, as my first basketball pick failed miserably. But as I watched the Cavaliers get demolished on their home court, I thought of the words of Thomas Wayne to a young Bruce, “Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up”. So let’s pick ourselves up and get back to some winning ways. Friday night presents a big game 2 in the western conference finals, where the Avalanche will be looking to avoid going down 2-0 in the series. Game 1 was a bit of a shocker to most folks, including myself. Colorado was expected to win this series as they’ve looked nearly unbeatable int the first 2 rounds, but Carter Hart and the Golden Knights set the tone. I think we get a lot of urgency out of the Avalanche tonight who I still expect to win this series. However they are quite large favorites, and I am not one to lay -200 juice. So, I’ll be looking to bet the Avs on the puck line. It does worry me that star D man Cale Makar is still out, but I simply think the Avalanche have too many guys for the Knights to deal with. Always a risk betting a team to win by multiple goals in the Stanley Cup playoffs, but with a hungry Nathan Mackinnon leading the charge I have no fear. Also, if the Avs are up late, we always have the chance at an empty netter to seal a victory. Let’s go Avalanche!

Official pick: Colorado Avalanche -1.5 +140 (play to +130)
