Pick of the day
After a short hiatus last week, we’re back to our regularly scheduled programming with a Friday pick of the day. No hockey until tomorrow so we’re taking a trip down to San Antonio for game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Knicks pulled out a victory in game 1 with a great second half performance lead by Jalen Brunson, extending their playoff win streak to 12. However, that streak ends tonight, as I am backing the Spurs to get this one done and cover the spread. I’ve always said that the hungry dog runs faster, and the Spurs will be starving for a win to avoid dropping the first two games at home. And while game 1 was close down the stretch, it was in spite of Victor Wembanyama playing extremely poor, going 6-21 from the field and turning the ball over 6 times. If Wemby plays up to usual standards and the supporting cast of Vassell, Harper, and Castle chip in, the Spurs should win this one easily and knot the series up. Let’s go Spurs!
Official pick: San Antonio Spurs -6.5 (play to -7.5)
Bonus Pick for all Puckheads
Carolina Hurricanes -108 on Saturday
